COT (Continuous Open Training) Program

Our Continous Open Training is a unique program that strives to make training affordable and available to you within your busy schedule.  Unlike other types of training models, the COT Program never stops giving you the opportunity to continue training.

Current Courses in the COT Program
Wilderness Skills
Traditional Archery

----------------------------------
Training Season
COT Courses are given during the training season which is typically May through October of the given year.

----------------------------------

Purchased in Day Blocks
Simply put, a COT course is purchased in Day Blocks (unless you are a member and you get special monthly pricing).  Once purchased, you can use one of your purchased Day Blocks to  come anytime to train with our instructors during that course day between  9am-7pm.  Any participation time during a training will remove one of your purchased Day Blocks regardless of the amount of time you spend there, so we highly recommend you expect to spend at least 2 hours on each COT training day to get the value and instruction you need to move your skills ahead.

----------------------------------

Your Pace Training
The continuous training model is required for those that want skills that last past the hobby level.  With our bi-weekly COT our instructors will identify your next required skill in the course and be sure you understand the technique, purpose, and practice needed to master it so they can move you onto training in the next skill.     We all have skills that take us longer to achieve than others.  This training model allows you to work at it (with experienced help) until you succeed instead of leaving you behind just so others can move ahead.

----------------------------------

Mastering Skills with Continuous Instruction
The COT removes the failing (present and run style) of a lot of programs that show some skills in a quick workshop or course, but then don't have any follow up instruction to be sure you master those skills, get your questions answered, and then build upon them.  Your success at skills is the testament to our instruction, so selling to you and then dropping you isn't our goal.

----------------------------------

Option to Workaround Peak Times
Our instructors will be there to work with all of the students at any given time, but you may want to consider that there are peak times where groups of students will be larger than others. Sometimes instructors will almost have a one-on-one time with each student and other times you will learn in a large group.   So you may want to keep that in mind when choosing what times to come during that training day.  (But as always you can come the whole day to get in as much training as you can and instruction will always be top notch regardless.)

----------------------------------

Weather Considerations
The COT Program allows you to hold onto your Day Block until the conditions warrant a good training day (for you!).  For example, if you are deep into learning your fire skills, then you wouldn't have as much valuable training on a day of down pouring rain compared to waiting for a training day of clear skies.  This puts you in control of how much value you are getting from your purchase, as it should be.  Rest assured though, our instructors will still be out there for those that want to brave the conditions and train anyways.  Having said this, we do need to consider the risk of extreme weather situations that would be dangerous to students.  In these cases we will cancel the days training for the safety of students and instructors.

----------------------------------

Life gets in the way sometimes
We understand that sometimes obligations or financial issues arise and you may need to take a break from your training, and that's ok.  We will still be here when you get back on track and rejoin us.  You see with the COT you won't miss anything like other courses if you aren't there at a specific time and date.  When you come back we will brush up your skills and get you right back to where you left off.

----------------------------------

Long Distance Students
This also works great for those who are not local or maybe in another state.  Purchase one day, come up and train, then purchase another day when you can free up the travel time.  Smaller "bites" of time off when it's convenient makes it easier to keep training.  Never miss a beat with the COT Program.

For those that prefer to travel once and train in a block of days, please email us and setup a group or private training for your particular request.
